The bridesmaids??? I wish I had a photo of my grandparent's wedding or at least the wedding dress....if there was one. I don't even have a photo of my own parent's wedding. Great photo!!!!
I really LIKE this picture. I could stare at it for the longest time! I think those are the bridesmaids dresses - or the mother, auntie dresses or something. I definitely think they did it on purpose!
I would love to know the full story behind this picture. Do you know it?
Grandma told me who these ladies were some time ago. She always laughs at this photo and I will ask her again - Renate I think you're on to something, I seem to think that they're her Aunts. I know for certainty that none of them are her mother. So glad everyone is enjoying this one, it's been uplifting for me, thanks for all the comments!
What a great photo and so "different". I love all the aspects of it: the old house, the 3 ladies and the bride. Without even one, it would not be nearly as unique!
The woman third from left looks like Lizzie. I have seen a pic of the woman far right, possibly Carrie. Wonderful picture. Dresses (and shoes) had to be a plan :)
CAN YOU HELP ME FIND THEM? This blogger is searching for a couple of specific people, maybe you can help me find them:
A cousin, her maiden name was Brenda Anderson. Brenda was born in 1960 in Maryland. She is the daughter of Russell Keener Anderson and Peggy.
My Uncle (or any descendants of) Hugh Bellew. Last heard from sometime in late 1950s, believe to be in the Chicago area at that time. Born in 1916 in Preston, Lancashire England. Came to the US, grew up in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Hugh's parents were John and Margaret Bellew and he had two brothers in the US, Al and William.
If you have information about either of these family members please get in touch with me!
I'm a wife & stay-at-home mom to 5 beautiful kids! I've been researching families for about 17 years and teach small local adult-education classes for beginners. I love the hunt for ancestors - mine and everyone else's.
Oh my gosh, how funny that they are all wearing the same (or similar) floral-pattern dresses. Maybe the 3 are sisters?

ReplyDeleteI was thinking bridesmaids too or singers, maybe? They don't look very happy though. Love the picture though!
ReplyDeleteYes, the pattern is very similar, hopefully they were all different colors and then you may not have noticed so much!

ReplyDeleteThis photograph speaks volumes of how much these women worked together to make it a special wedding. Simply loved the photo.
